Why I’m Running Against Joe
The Votes
Did you know Joe voted for a budget that included these cuts to our most vulnerable populations? This is not who we are or what we should be supporting. (This is not a comprehensive list)
Foster Care: A cut of $7 million to Treehouse, which cuts services to 1300 youth in foster care. (https://www.treehouseforkids.org/legislative-agenda/)
Services for Disabled Adults: Elimination of the Meaningful Day program, which provides services to people with disabilities in adult family homes. (https://www.cascadepbs.org/news/2025/08/wa-budget-eliminates-funding-for-adult-family-home-activities/)
Halved funding for the free diaper program.(https://www.cascadepbs.org/news/2025/07/free-diaper-program-for-low-income-washington-families-cut-in-half/)
Abortion Access Project Cuts (https://www.cascadepbs.org/news/2025/06/wa-abortion-access-at-critical-risk-after-state-cuts-advocates-say/)
Early learning mental health support cut of 50%. (https://www.cascadepbs.org/news/2025/08/mental-health-support-for-preschools-sees-50-cut-in-new-wa-budget/)
The Money
Why Is Joe Taking Tens of Thousands of Dollars in PAC Money, Out-of-State Business Interests, and Oil & Gas Companies?
Let’s face it. Money talks. As of May 2026, Joe has about a quarter of a million dollars on hand. Why does he need this kind of money?
My guess is that now he is in leadership, he is raising money for other colleagues and organizations. You know, PAC money is the gift that keeps on giving. And taking. I encourage you to take a close look at his PDC filings, which detail the contributions he has taken.
As for me, I’m running a grassroots campaign, self-funded on a fixed income. I call on Joe to return all of this special interest contributions and quit asking constituents for their hard-earned money.
Let’s make campaigns affordable again!
